To further improve and elevate our Kids Sports offering, we have reviewed and updated some aspects of the program to ensure we are providing the best possible service to our participants.
As a result you can expect the following changes to the Swish Basketball program at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre:
- Our programs will consist of more game education – with a stronger focus on game concepts and team play.
- There will be more time spent at the rings, practising shooting, rebounding, defence and all other techniques..
- We have incorporated new and engaging drills and activities into our program.
- There will be more basketball specific coaching.
- Each level will have greater skill development.
To help improve the quality of the program and allow for more gameplay and team play across all levels, we have consolidated the levels. Further to this, ratios will change slightly and there will be a reduced amount of stations. This will also allow for more quality time at the rings.
New Level Structures:
Swish Rookies: Cubs & Rhinos (blue uniforms (no change)).
Swish Ballers: Panthers, Bears, Wolves, Lions (all white uniforms).
